Recorder Karate for 4th & 5th!
This awesome program is the one we will use to expand our program and create beautiful music! Just like a Dojo, however, our studio will adhere to strict rules of behavior. Everyone can succeed. Everyone can follow the rules.
We will celebrate everyone's success with Belts--just like we do in Karate: each student will work at their own pace to receive the next level of belt by practicing and performing each required piece:
BELTS
· White – Hot Cross Buns
• Yellow – Gently Sleep
• Orange – Merrily We Roll Along
• Green – It’s Raining
• Purple – Old MacDonald
• Blue – When The Saints Go Marching In
• Red – Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star
• Brown – Amazing Grace
• Black – Ode To Joy

Recorder Karate Dojo Rules
Rule 1
Enter the music room quietly with your recorder and all materials needed for class.
Rule 2
After the master bows to the class, all students bow together and then to each other before sitting down.
Rule 3
Sit with your legs crossed and your recorder lying in front of you.
Rule 4
Do not play your recorder until instructed to do so (Playing out of turn shows disrespect to the master and other students which may result in losing playing privileges for the day).
Rule 5
At the end of class, stand and bow to the master and to each other when instructed.
